How does preschool help prepare my child for kindergarten?

Lil' Saints provides a gentle, fun environment for children to learn the skills they will need in Kindergarten. We encourage your child to interact and socialize with others. We also teach essential skills such as following routines, behaving respectfully and appropriately in the classroom, socializing with peers by taking turns and resolving conflicts, and building independence.

Our curriculum includes phonics and math to help children develop pre-reading, writing, and basic math skills. Junior Kindergarten program is available to children going to kindergarten the following year. This program is carefully planned in partnership with the Sacred Heart School kindergarten teachers to help and prepare the children for the "Big School".

When can I register my child?

Our preschool calendar begins in September, typically 2 days after elementary school classes commence, and it ends the week before elementary classes finish in June. We open registration for the coming school year in January, and encourage you to register early to secure your choice of spots. We also accept children during the year if there is space available. The latest date for admission into a current school year is the end of March.

Does my child need to be "potty trained" to attend preschool?

We would prefer that children are potty trained when they attend preschool, however, your child is allowed to come with a diaper or pull-up if the mother/father/caregiver is immidiately available to come in and change your child if they have a bowel movement.

*Please note that the teachers are not allowed to change diapers or pull ups.
