Teachers & students alike agreed that the vanilla and chocolate ice cream we made in class to conclude our Ice Theme was "finger-likin' good"

Our students participated in an experiment with "lard" that we put in between two ziplock bags. The kids put their hands in the bag with lard then put their hands in the icy water. This experiment made the children have a better understanding on how animals like polar bears and penguin have lots of fat in their bodies, that allows them to swim in icy cold water- the fat keep them warm!  This is part of our January Theme of everything "ice & snow"...we explore actic animals and end off the month making ice cream!!
